Host a portfolio website for free
A portfolio on a custom domain signals that you ship. You can build and host one for free, then put it on a clean yourname.certed.one address — no hosting bill, no domain fee.
What you'll need
- A free portfolio site (static HTML, React, Next.js — anything).
- A free host: GitHub Pages, Vercel or Netlify.
- A free certed.one domain — claim one in the quick start.
Step 1 — Claim your name
Register something memorable like jane.certed.one or janedev.certed.one from your dashboard. Short, readable names work best on a resume.
Step 2 — Deploy your site
Push your portfolio to your host of choice. Each host gives you a default URL and a place to add a custom domain.
Step 3 — Connect the domain
Add the DNS record your host asks for — usually a CNAME to their hostname, or an A record to their IP — under Manage domain for your subdomain. Step-by-step:
Step 4 — Share it
Once DNS propagates (usually minutes), your portfolio is live at yourname.certed.one. Add it to your resume, GitHub profile and LinkedIn. For more ideas, see free domains for students.
