Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the most common questions about certed.one.
What is certed.one?
certed.one is a platform where you can register a custom subdomain such as yourname.certed.one, manage its DNS records, and buy or sell names using the CTD token.
Is it free to sign up?
Yes. Creating an account is free, and you receive a one-time CTD grant when you verify your email, which you can spend on your first subdomain.
How much does it cost to register a subdomain?
Registration is priced in CTD at the median of all active marketplace listings, so it reflects current demand. When nothing is listed, a default baseline price applies. The exact cost is shown before you confirm.
What DNS records can I set?
You can manage A, AAAA, CNAME and TXT records, with a host and TTL for each — enough to point a subdomain at a website, an app, or to verify domain ownership.
How does buying and selling work?
Owners can list a subdomain for a fixed CTD price. Buyers can purchase instantly, or place an escrow-backed bid the seller may accept. On a sale, 3% of the price is burnt, 10% is shared among the domain's stakers, the seller receives the rest, ownership transfers and the trade is recorded in price history.
What happens to my bid if I change my mind?
Bids are escrowed when placed. You can withdraw an active bid at any time before it is accepted, and the held CTD is refunded in full. If another offer wins, your bid is refunded automatically.
What is the verification score?
Every subdomain has a 0–99 verification score based on how much CTD the community has staked behind it. The curve is logarithmic, and a wider base of stakers scores higher than a single large one, so many small stakers count for more.
How does staking work?
Anyone signed in can stake CTD on any subdomain to raise its verification score. Stakes are locked for 24 hours before they can be withdrawn. If the domain sells, your principal is returned and you share in 10% of the sale price by weight.
Can I host a page directly on my subdomain?
Yes. Use the Hosted page tab on a subdomain you own to publish a simple HTML page served at your name. Publishing requires removing the subdomain's DNS records first, since those would route visitors elsewhere.
Is there a fee to send CTD?
Yes — a 0.5% fee is burnt on every transfer. The sender is debited the full amount and the recipient receives the remainder.
Do amounts support decimals?
Yes. CTD supports two decimal places everywhere, so amounts like 10.50 CTD are valid for registration, listings, bids and transfers.
Why do I need to verify my email?
Verification activates your account and releases your initial CTD grant. Until you verify, you won't have CTD to register a subdomain.
